Body work is just as important for horses as it is for humans, and in many cases can be even more important because our horses can’t tell us in words when they are experiencing an issue in their body.

So often, behavioral problems or difficulties you may be experiencing in your training are due to physical limitations or issues your horse is experiencing.

The massage therapy that I do is an amazing way of helping a horse rebalance and feel more comfortable in their body. Releasing tension, improving flexibility, and increasing circulation are just some of the many physical benefits they will feel. In turn, it will greatly affect their ability to do what is asked of them and decrease their risk of injury.

This kind of work will also help their emotional state and attitude towards activities. But massage isn’t just for the horses performing or doing a job, it is also very beneficial for senior horses and for those who are recovering from an injury. It relieves their aches and pains and lifts their spirits.

Once a horse is relaxed and balanced, massage is not needed as often. But in order to get them to that state, more frequent sessions are beneficial initially.

In addition to these benefits, doing massage allows me to see and understand a horse on a much deeper level, giving me a clearer picture of how to work with them and help them in their training and life.
